What is an User?
A person who escorts people to their seat in a service and acts as an official doorkeeper that works in cooperation with the Pastor of the church.
There is a great need for ushers. Eventhough we should be free in the Lord, everything must be done in order. "Let all things be done decently and in order" (I Cor. 14:40). All services conducted within the santuary should permeate with the presence of God. Order should be maintained at all times. As a result, the need for ushers is greater than ever before.
Many find ushering to be a most unrewarding and an unappreciated job, but it can be made just the opposite by becoming involved in the tasks assigned. Remember, it is the disgrutled usher who may be the cause of a vistor or member leaving and never return.
There are very important traits of an affective usher: christianity, courtesy, alertness, promptness, courage, and discipline.
It is an honor to be an usher for the Lord in his church. "for a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my god, than to dwell in the tents fo wickedness." (Psalms 84:10)
